About The Position

The Global Medical Affairs Lead (Immunology) at Viatris is a pivotal role responsible for providing comprehensive medical affairs support for immunology products throughout their lifecycle, from Phase 3 studies to post-launch activities. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including medical and cross-functional colleagues, to generate and disseminate critical scientific information to medical experts and key stakeholders. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication and education regarding clinical evidence, standard of care, and unmet needs in the immunology field, particularly focusing on conditions such as Lupus. In this role, the Global Medical Affairs Lead will oversee the innovative product medical strategy, guiding medical inputs and consultations to address issues related to innovative products. This includes conducting medical and clinical reviews for potential in-licensing opportunities and leading Medical Affairs engagement with key functions such as Regulatory and Marketing. The individual will be responsible for the scientific planning process for innovative products, ensuring that strategies for data generation and dissemination are effectively implemented. The position also involves engaging in external collaborations to gain insights that facilitate the development of innovative products and maximize their value. The Global Medical Affairs Lead will review manuscripts to ensure alignment with strategic goals and effective communication for both internal and external audiences. Building visibility for the company's innovative programs through publications and presentations at scientific meetings is a key responsibility. Additionally, the role requires a strong cultural understanding of different markets to achieve a positive impact through quality, compliance, and integrity. The Global Medical Affairs Lead will develop and manage the in-year medical tactical plan and budget for global initiatives, collaborating with priority country medical affairs teams to support development plans and launch strategies. The individual will also provide therapeutic area medical leadership, driving strategic initiatives to advance science and foster leadership within the therapeutic area. The position demands a proactive approach to educating healthcare professionals about product differentiation and the impact of treatments on patient outcomes and healthcare costs. The Global Medical Affairs Lead will ensure training and capability development of medical teams across Viatris and participate in product development strategy and lifecycle management for key global brands. This role serves as a scientific representative, engaging with external scientific leaders, policymakers, and patient advocacy groups to advocate for compliance and drive confidence in prescribing practices.
