About The Position

The Global Medical Advisor at Cardinal Health is responsible for providing medical and clinical expertise throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on enhancing clinical solutions and ensuring patient safety. This role serves as a strategic partner, offering clinical insights and direction for both pre-and post-market products, thereby enabling growth opportunities for Cardinal Health's brand product categories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Advanced Practice Nurse or master's level degree preferred.
  • Active nursing license.
  • CPPS certification preferred.
  • 4-8 years of experience preferred, with a minimum of five years of clinical nursing involving direct patient care in relevant settings.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety across the care continuum.
  • Experience in quality improvement, clinical risk management, and infection prevention preferred.
  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Ability to assess clinical outcomes, analyze data, summarize, and present findings.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive literature reviews.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical expertise and serves as subject matter expert to support product design, change management, and risk mitigation throughout product lifecycle management.
  • Serves as a clinical consultant and aligns clinical practice, product usage, and user needs to support various departments including Marketing, Sales, Clinical Affairs, and Regulatory.
  • Partners with marketing to align clinical insights with product portfolio strategy and key priorities.
  • Engages with key cross-functional leaders to align claims and instructions for use with clinical education needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provides medical expertise to identify potential health risks and supports patient safety through risk assessment and correspondence regarding adverse events to regulatory authorities.
  • Serves as expert reviewer for European and Canadian Medical Device Regulation documents.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of Medical Affairs processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
