About The Position

The Media Relations Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for developing and executing a high-impact media program that elevates brand visibility and communicates our value proposition to target audiences. This role sits at the intersection of deep industry knowledge, compelling storytelling, and rigorous measurement - and requires a track record of building media programs that consistently move the needle. You will partner closely with leaders across the business - including marketing, product, sales, and the C-suite - to bring the best parts of the company to a broad and relevant audience across professional services verticals including accounting, consulting, investment banking, legal, and private capital. The Media Relations Director will own the full media program directly - spanning all industry verticals, executive communications, crisis response, and budget management - while partnering with marketing leaders across our industries to ensure PR is integrated into each vertical's broader marketing mix.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of media relations or public relations experience, with significant in-house corporate experience at a B2B technology company.
  • Deep expertise in professional services verticals - law, investment banking, private equity, accounting, or similar - as well as enterprise or SaaS technology.
  • Established, trusted relationships with journalists and media outlets across business, technology, and vertical trade press.
  • Proven track record of building programs that deliver quantifiable results - share of voice growth, coverage volume, and audience reach.
  • Experience managing PR agencies and budgets at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with C-suite executives and cross-functional senior stakeholders.
  • Ambition to build and lead a team: this role begins as an IC and grows into a people manager as the function scales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator: equally strong crafting a press release and advising an executive before an interview.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure, report on, and continuously improve program performance.
  • Proactive and opportunistic: quick to identify and act on emerging media moments.
  • Collaborative team player with a cross-functional orientation and ability to build trust quickly.
