About The Position

The Global Logistics Manager provides strategic leadership and end-to-end oversight of all global and corporate logistics operations supporting the Virgin Voyages fleet. This role is accountable for the planning, governance, and execution of logistics activities for all products shipped to the vessels across every business function, including Hotel, Marine, Technical, Food & Beverage, IT, Marketing, Sales, and any other corporate departments. The position ensures the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of consumables, spare parts, capital equipment, promotional materials, and strategic supplies, including those required for dry dock and special projects. Acting as the central logistics authority, the Manager establishes standards, drives cross-functional alignment, optimizes vendor performance, and leverages data-driven insights to enhance service reliability, control costs, and support enterprise-wide operational objectives across the global fleet. This position oversees end-to-end logistics execution across both operational and corporate supply channels and partners closely with suppliers, carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), shipboard teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting, product availability, and on-time delivery. The Manager plays a critical role in logistics strategy development, KPI ownership, operational problem-solving, and the use of data analytics to optimize overall supply chain performance. The Manager is responsible for the company's logistics P&L, financial forecasting and end of month reporting. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage a global logistics network with consistency, safety, and operational excellence. This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in global logistics, transportation management, or supply chain operations; cruise or maritime industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and large-scale shipping operations.
  • Proficiency with logistics systems, ERP platforms, shipment tracking tools, and analytics solutions (Tableau or similar preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export compliance, and international shipping documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, complex environments with a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Logistics Operations & Planning ● Oversees global transportation operations across air, sea, and ground modes for all supply categories, including Hotel, Marine, Technical, Food & Beverage, consumables, replaceables, and spare parts, and corporate purchases heading to the ships.
  • Manages logistics planning and execution for fleet operations across all ports and warehouse locations worldwide.
  • Develops and maintains shipping schedules to ensure accurate and timely delivery across all transportation modes.
  • Plans and executes logistics operations supporting dry dock activities in coordination with shipyards, 3PLs, and technical teams.
  • Ensures safe and compliant storage, handling, and transportation of all goods, including regulated products such as food and controlled materials.
  • Vendor & Partner Management ● Manages relationships and performance of all third-party logistics providers (3PLs), ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Coordinates hotel-side logistics activities with the company’s procurement and logistics partner (The Apollo Group).
  • Oversees relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and port service providers to ensure service reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Transportation, Freight & Warehousing ● Oversees freight planning, rate negotiation, carrier selection, and shipment tracking for containerized, break-bulk, truckload, and air freight.
  • Manages air freight requests, approvals, and cost controls.
  • Negotiates and contracts clearance services for all shipments, partners with Port Operations Manager to negotiate rates with port agents.
  • Plans and monitors global warehousing solutions through 3PL partners, ensuring efficient inventory flow, material handling, and retrieval accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination ● Maintains effective communication between suppliers, 3PLs, ports, shoreside & shipboard teams, procurement, and finance to meet delivery schedules and budget targets.
  • Reviews and coordinates container shipping and consolidates shipping across multiple functions in the business
  • Reviews and approves all airfreight requests.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to resolve delays, supply shortages, transportation disruptions, and emerging risks such as weather events, port congestion, or geopolitical impacts.
  • Compliance, Safety & Standards ● Ensures all logistics activities comply with international trade regulations, customs requirements, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintains accurate and compliant documentation for freight, transportation, customs, and warehousing operations.
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement ● Utilizes logistics data and KPIs to improve delivery accuracy, reduce costs, and optimize inventory flow.
  • Conducts root-cause analyses on delays, shortages, and transportation issues; implements corrective actions.
  • Develops and maintains reporting dashboards to track global shipments, inventory movement, budget performance, and vendor KPIs.
  • Monitors logistics cost drivers, freight market trends, port conditions, and supply chain risks.
  • Identifies opportunities for transportation optimization, vendor consolidation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Strategic Leadership ● Develops and executes logistics strategies aligned with company-wide operational and financial objectives.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance systems, and introduce new logistics technologies.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of SOPs to ensure consistent global logistics execution.
  • Represents Supply Chain Logistics in operational reviews, dry dock planning sessions, and internal leadership meetings.
