You Are We are seeking an experienced and visionary Insurance Industry Leader to guide the digital transformation of the world's leading insurance carriers and brokers. This executive role is focused on establishing Google Cloud as the premier platform for the insurance sector to innovate, manage risk, and reinvent the customer journey through the strategic application of Data, AI, and agentic technologies. The Work You will be responsible for helping insurers modernize their core platforms, create new data-driven products, automate processes, and build more resilient, customer-centric business models. The ideal candidate will possess deep insurance industry expertise, a thorough understanding of its regulatory landscape, and a compelling vision for how cloud technology can securely redefine the future of insurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the insurance industry (e.g., at a major carrier, broker, or a technology firm exclusively serving the insurance sector).
• Minimum of 7 years of deep domain expertise across the insurance value chain (product, distribution, underwriting, claims, and finance).
• Minimum of 7 year of experience and a proven track record of leading large-scale, technology-enabled business transformation projects within an insurance context.

Nice To Haves

• MBA or professional designation (e.g., FCAS, FSA, CPCU).
• Direct experience with public cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud) and their application to insurance-specific use cases.
• Demonstrated success in deploying AI/ML solutions to drive measurable outcomes in areas like underwriting accuracy, claims efficiency, or fraud reduction.
• An extensive network of executive-level relationships with leaders at major insurance carriers, brokerages, and InsurTechs.
• Exceptional executive presence, with the credibility to advise senior insurance executives and serve as an influential industry evangelist.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Industry Leadership: You will be the chief architect and driver of Google Cloud's comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the global insurance industry, spanning Property & Casualty, Life & Annuity, and Reinsurance. You will serve as the senior voice of the insurance customer within Google, translating the industry's critical needs—such as underwriting transformation, claims automation, and regulatory compliance—into actionable strategies for our product, engineering, and security teams. Your mission is to ensure Google Cloud is the most trusted and innovative platform for the entire insurance value chain.
• Insurance Transformation and Modernization: As a trusted, peer-level advisor to the C-suite at our most strategic insurance clients, you will guide their most ambitious transformation programs. You will lead the development of cutting-edge solutions that leverage Google Cloud to reinvent core insurance functions. This includes modernizing legacy policy administration and claims systems, enabling data-driven underwriting with advanced risk models, creating personalized digital distribution channels, and developing entirely new insurance products based on real-time data and behavioral insights.
• Data, AI, and Risk Innovation: You will champion the use of Google's powerful Data and AI platforms to solve the insurance industry's most complex challenges. This involves helping carriers break down entrenched data silos to create unified data platforms that provide a single view of risk and the customer. You will spearhead the adoption of AI and machine learning for mission-critical use cases, including sophisticated risk modeling, automated claims processing and fraud detection, dynamic pricing, and personalized customer retention strategies. Furthermore, you will drive the responsible use of generative AI and intelligent agents to revolutionize customer service, assist underwriters, and automate complex documentation analysis.
• Security, Compliance, and Trust: The insurance industry is built on a foundation of trust and long-term stability. You will be the ultimate champion for security and regulatory compliance on our platform, leading Google Cloud's strategy to meet and exceed the rigorous requirements of global regulators (e.g., NAIC, Solvency II, PRA, EIOPA). You will work closely with Chief Risk Officers, CISOs, auditors, and regulators to demonstrate our commitment to data security and sovereignty, building the confidence required for insurers to run their core, mission-critical systems on Google Cloud.
• Ecosystem and Thought Leadership: You will be responsible for building and cultivating a world-class ecosystem of partners essential to the insurance industry. This includes core platform vendors (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek), InsurTech startups, data providers, and specialized system integrators. As the public face and thought leader for Google Cloud in insurance, you will represent us at major industry events, engage with influential analysts, and articulate a powerful vision for the secure, intelligent, and data-driven future of the insurance industry.
