Grant Thornton is seeking a Global Indirect Tax Manager to join our team in Bellevue, WA. Additional approved locations include Los Angels, CA, Newport Beach, CA, Phoenix, AZ, San Francisco, CA, and San Jose, CA. As the Global Indirect Tax Manager, you’ll deliver a full range of tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for your multiple clients – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You’ll collaborate with the Global Indirect Tax team and lead staff on various tax matters, on all phases of project and engagement management, because together is how we succeed. Your day-to-day may include: Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews Contribute to practice development through process improvements, thought leadership, and team collaboration. Develop and deliver project proposals, including detailed workplans and fee quotes, to prospective clients. Manage project budgets and financial administration, including preparing invoices and monitoring/collecting outstanding accounts receivable. Serve as a US state and local Sales/Use Tax and related indirect taxes subject matter resource, with particular expertise in Washington State excise tax, and contribute to the firm’s broader subject matter expert network. Manage and deliver a broad range of US State and Local Indirect Tax consulting services, with a primary focus on Sales/Use Tax. Examples of relevant consulting services may include: Reverse audits (e.g., refund claims) Audit defense and controversy support Multi-state nexus analyses Researching state and local tax issues, including taxability treatment, preparing related technical memoranda, and drafting client correspondence Exposure quantification and remediation planning Navigating the Registration and Voluntary Disclosure Agreement process across various states ASC 450 reviews Performing sales/use tax due diligence analyses Assisting with administrative and compliance aspects, including occasionally preparing, reviewing, and/or filing clients’ sales/use tax returns and responding to inquiries from state taxing authorities.
