About The Position

Reporting to the Global Head of FX Sales, the Global Head of FX Sales for Alternatives will lead the strategic expansion of our FX franchise across the rapidly growing Alternatives client segment. This executive role reflects the increasing importance of hedge funds and private market firms in global FX markets, as both sectors have scaled significantly in size, sophistication, and global reach. You will be responsible for shaping and executing a unified global coverage model for large, multi‑regional alternative clients, while providing leadership and direction to FX sales teams across regions. With a focus on delivering growth, strengthening risk excellence, and deepening client engagement, you will guide a high‑performing international salesforce, ensuring they develop strong relationships, understand complex decision-making structures, and drive prospecting and onboarding strategies that position us as the partner of choice for Alternative clients worldwide. Requirements

  • This role requires executive leadership, presence and advanced managerial skills including:
  • Management of the financials of a business, coupled with risk and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with senior level staff, middle management, and support teams across the bank to as required to drive execution.
  • Effective engagement collaborating with senior management across the organization to drive Global Markets’ strategic initiatives forward.
  • Results-focused individual with persistence and patience necessary to work effectively with a variety of internal and external constituents to drive results.
  • Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills to help transform the organization.
  • 15-20 years’ experience in foreign exchange or related markets.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective client relationships in the Alternative space.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple salespeople against a defined market segment.
  • Sophisticated understanding of foreign exchange products and their application to alternative managers including expertise in advising on hedging of currency risk and other related portfolio management issues.
  • Detailed understanding of the regulatory environment and a thorough understanding of market structure issues and the most pressing industry related trends.
  • Deep knowledge of all procedures, best practices, escalation policies and other codes of conduct relevant to the execution of the role.
  • Proven high ethical standard.
  • Good judgment and leadership with regard to day to day ethical issues.
  • Long track record of demonstrated customer orientation including existing and new business development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global strategy for both sets of Alternative clients, aligning with State Street's overall strategy, and working closely with teams in Global Credit Finance, Investment Services, and the Global Client Division to drive value across the firm.
  • Motivate and cultivate salespeople to ensure appropriate training across their teams to help them meet their core job expectations.
  • Facilitate and take ownership of initiatives pertaining to alternative clients.
  • Participate in the decision-making process of the global management team and be accountable for the creation and implementation of strategy in the alternative client segment.
  • Ensure all procedures, regulations and credit limits are adhered to across all the desks.
  • Cultivate our talent by ensuring appropriate training to help them meet their core job expectations.
  • Strengthen our talent through increased diversity, mobility and training.
  • Foster a culture of speaking up and challenge and debate and in doing so increase employee engagement.
  • Ensure State Street understands the capital market needs of its clients and ensure this information is fed back through the organization through call reporting to inform bank strategy.
