About The Position

As Global Finance Director, Packaging Coatings, you will lead the financial management, reporting, planning, and forecasting activities for PPG's global Packaging business. You will be a trusted and strategic partner to the Packaging leadership teams, providing insight, challenge, and guidance to drive profitable growth and operational excellence. You will report directly to the Vice President, Finance and operate as a member of the Global Packaging Leadership Team. You will carry strategic, financial, and organizational impact and operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. You will have a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 remote days and will work from our Pittsburgh, PA headquarters. Main Responsibilities: Lead all financial activities for the global Packaging business, including: 1. Monthly close and financial reporting 2. Financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting 3. Financial analysis and performance management 4. Internal controls and compliance Provide leadership to a global team of finance professionals, including managers and senior-level staff, ensuring execution, talent development, and high performance across regions. Be a valued advisor and thought partner to Packaging leadership, influencing business strategy and other key decisions as a member of the Global Packaging leadership team. Partner with commercial and operational leaders on: 1. Pricing strategy and RFQ support 2. Customer investment and margin analysis 3. Business partnering initiatives that improve profitability and competitiveness 4. Cost management including productivity and RSGA 5. Cash flow and working capital optimization, including accounts receivable and inventory 6. Management of capital spending and any business restructuring Contribute to business strategy development through: 1. Financial evaluation of growth initiatives and potential acquisitions 2. Scenario modeling and capital allocation analysis 3. Support of strategic business development activities Identify, lead, and implement process improvement initiatives across the Packaging organization to improve efficiency, insight, and scalability. Promote modernization and optimization of the global finance cost structure, including simplification, standardization, and effective use of shared services and digital tools. Ensure full compliance with PPG global accounting policies, internal control standards, and governance requirements. Leadership & Management Responsibilities: Directly manage and develop a complex, global finance organization through multiple managers or senior professionals. Full accountability for: 1. Talent decisions including hiring, promotions, performance management, compensation, and disciplinary actions; 2.Budget ownership, staffing plans, and financial results Operate autonomously while remaining accountable for achieving strategic financial and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership responsibility
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and financial modeling expertise
  • Executive presence with outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and navigating complex, global organizations

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA
  • Experience supporting global, multi profit center businesses
  • Demonstrated experience with pricing, RFQs, and commercial finance partnering
