Here’s the Gist: As Global Fab & Backend Controller, you will be the key finance business partner to our Fab and Backend Operations leaders, championing financial discipline and operational excellence across Wolfspeed’s global manufacturing footprint. You’ll lead a team of analysts, own the budgeting and forecasting cycles, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and provide actionable insights that shape our financial success. This role is based out of our Mohawk Valley Fab in Marcy, NY.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance roles
  • Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling (Excel mastery required; experience with SAP ERP a plus)
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus
  • Prior semiconductor experience (highly preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Fab and Backend operations controllers to improve financial visibility and decision making though a deep understanding of the underlying financial dynamics within the factories
  • Lead and develop a global team of finance analysts—standardizing processes, enhancing financial reporting, and elevating analytical capabilities
  • Ownership of the quarterly, annual, and long-range budget processes, partnering with the Operations team to identify and lead cost-out initiatives to continually budget and deliver improved cost per wafer
  • Build and maintain financial models in support of factory operations, including cost roadmaps, factory labor models, ROI analyses, and valuation models in support of strategic initiatives
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close process including budget to actual spend analysis and approving any necessary journal entries
  • Identify strategic opportunities to improve the company’s operational and financial performance, provide analysis to support those recommendations, and work to implement necessary changes to achieve success
