About The Position

The Global Environmental Director (Environmental EHS Compliance) is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and governance of global environmental compliance & performance programs across all business units. This role ensures alignment with international environmental regulations, drives sustainability integration, and mitigates environmental risks through proactive leadership and oversight. The incumbent will champion environmental stewardship, regulatory strategy, and continuous improvement in environmental performance across global operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in global environmental compliance, risk management, and sustainability leadership.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing environmental governance frameworks and compliance systems.
  • Experience working with international regulatory bodies and managing global environmental audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global environmental compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to international regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, local environmental laws).
  • Develop and implement environmental risk mitigation frameworks across all capital projects and operational activities.
  • Oversee global environmental audit programs, compliance monitoring systems, and corrective action processes.
  • Integrate sustainability goals and environmental performance metrics into business operations and strategic planning.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed environmental compliance into product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial operations.
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental permitting, reporting, and regulatory engagement.
  • Monitor emerging environmental regulations and trends, ensuring proactive adaptation and compliance.
  • Lead environmental training and awareness programs to build organizational capability and culture.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis related to environmental non-compliance.
  • Develop governance frameworks and policies for environmental compliance and sustainability integration.
