About The Position

The Global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager at Maxima Power Group is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the EHS function across North America and supporting operations in Chile. This position plays a critical role in developing and maintaining EHS programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. The manager will lead initiatives to improve EHS visibility and execution, manage the EHS budget, and conduct safety audits while collaborating with regional teams to enhance safety practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a lead EHS role in an Engineering or Technical Field Services environment.
  • Experience leading teams of EHS professionals.
  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Deep understanding of legal EHS requirements in Canada and the USA.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH.
  • Experience in the electrical discipline.
  • Certified Auditor for COR or other related programs such as OSHA VPP or ISO 45001.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the EHS function for North America and support the EHS team in Chile.
  • Develop and maintain EHS programs for the business unit.
  • Drive adherence to safety standards and develop a culture of safety.
  • Manage the business unit EHS budget.
  • Ensure annual safety audits are performed by the EHS team or operations management.
  • Oversee Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety certifications for Canadian operations.
  • Lead initiatives to maintain a 0.0 Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).
  • Conduct effective quarterly and monthly EHS meetings for all employees.
  • Engage safety representatives from each region for the Joint Workplace EHS Committee.
  • Develop capacity to consult with clients on EHS related training and program development.
