About the position

The Global EHS Manager at Belvac is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across all company locations. This role involves developing and implementing safety and environmental policies, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. The manager will work closely with all levels of the organization to promote safety protocols and training programs, ultimately aiming to prevent incidents and ensure the well-being of employees and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, and implement environmental, health and safety policies, programs, and procedures for all Belvac locations.
  • Work with senior leadership to plan and execute strategies for enhancing EHS culture and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the implementation and sustainment of all Dover EHS initiatives at Belvac locations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and eliminate occupational risks, focusing on Potentially Serious Injuries or Fatalities (PSIFs).
  • Coordinate with associates and managers to mitigate risks identified in assessments and monitor their ongoing management.
  • Prepare, schedule, and deliver EHS training to all associates, including New Hire Orientation and required trainings.
  • Utilize EHS Software Enablon for recordkeeping of EHS-related activities, including incidents and compliance tasks.
  • Investigate EHS incidents using root cause methodology to establish corrective actions and escalate as necessary.
  • Process workers compensation documentation and liaise with insurance carriers.
  • Monitor and enforce employee compliance with Belvac Safety Programs.
  • Advise operations and facilities teams on safety and compliance issues during project planning.
  • Conduct regular meetings with leaders and safety champions to ensure compliance and improve safety culture.
  • Assist Facilities team with risk management responsibilities, including fire suppression systems and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with storage and disposal requirements for various waste types.
  • Maintain Air, Wastewater discharge, and Stormwater Permits, and manage new permits as needed.
  • Serve as Green House Gas (GHG) Champion, ensuring accurate tracking of utilities and sustainability projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
  • Safety leadership or coordinator experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required.
  • CPR/AED/FA Instructor certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of starting.
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Traditional Lean Continuous Improvement experience or Lean Six Sigma experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
  • CSM, ASP or CSP certifications preferred.
