Eaton's ES AMER Sector Integration division is currently seeking a Global Data Center Technical Program Manager. Individuals will be able to work from a remote home office but must be located in either San Jose, CA, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX or Manassas, VA areas. Two positions are available with one role being hired for the California region and one role will be hired for either the Texas or Virginia region. The data center industry is experiencing rapid growth and technological advancements, driven by the increasing demand for AI, cloud computing, and edge computing solutions. To remain relevant and competitive, Eaton must adopt a systems-based approach and provide comprehensive, unified solutions to our customers. This role will be part of the Data Center Architect Team which will play a pivotal role in achieving this by driving innovation and systems thinking, enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction, and supporting key accounts and market drivers.

  • Driving Innovation and Systems Thinking: Lead the development of next-generation data center solutions, integrating power, cooling, and data transport technologies.
  • Enhancing Customer Engagement and Satisfaction: Work closely with customers to gather feedback and ensure offerings align with market demands.
  • Supporting Key Accounts and Market Drivers: Focus on supporting major customers such as NVIDIA, AMD, Microsoft, Google, Meta, AWS, and Oracle.
  • Early Concept Ideation: Initiate and review design concepts, analyze, ideate, and conduct peer reviews of detailed designs.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Engage as an expert in data center infrastructure design and operations.
  • Holistic Systems Approach: Oversee electrical, mechanical, network, and control systems with a comprehensive view of data center design.
  • Performance Metrics Advisory: Advise on key metrics such as value engineering, efficiency, resiliency, sustainability, and operability.
  • Establishing, owning, and continuously developing comprehensive roadmaps and processes that meet targets across R&D and Marketing and Sales.
  • Identifying and building positive relationships with all account decision-makers and influencers.
  • Understanding and capturing clients' challenges and requirements, resolving them with reference to Eaton's portfolio.
  • Ensuring an effective handover to post-order project management, product services, and customer support teams.
  • Maintaining oversight of all commercial-related engagements to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
  • Being highly knowledgeable about the client's business, commercial condition, structure, strategy, operations, and challenges.
  • Acting as an effective advocate and communicator of the benefits of supporting your assigned accounts within the Eaton organization.
  • Collaborating effectively with other sales and stakeholders at the function, country, region, and global levels.
  • Providing all internal stakeholders and functional departments with account-specific guidance and insights.
  • Building a multi-lane bridge between Eaton and the client organization.
  • Requesting and supporting marketing campaigns and activities that can grow Eaton's relationship and business with the client.
  • Leading and coordinating internal R&D efforts to develop innovative solutions.
  • Facilitating collaboration between R&D teams and other departments.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of R&D projects.
  • Communicating R&D outcomes and innovations to clients.
  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in data center business.
  • Technical knowledge in data centers design and construction, specifically Fiber Optics, Electrical systems, Mechanical Cooling systems, Controls, Liquid cooling.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience with Product Design or Product Management with a working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall.
  • Specialized Industry Knowledge: Ability to create customized data center physical layer solutions.
  • DMAIC experience for process improvement and drive for excellence.
  • Highly proficient at technical program management, agile and process improvement.
  • Ability to write whitepapers and drive innovation.
