What Makes This Role Great: In this position, you won’t just manage vendors—you will be a strategic architect of Trimble’s supply chain. You have the unique opportunity to influence the entire Product Life Cycle, from initial NPI design to end-of-life, while nurturing executive-level supplier relationships and driving global cost-reduction initiatives that directly impact our bottom line.

Requirements

  • Proven Expertise: 4+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain and Commodity Management, supporting product lifecycles from NPI through production.
  • Strategic Communicator: Ability to articulate vision and strategy to cross-functional Design and Product teams as well as executive management.
  • Negotiation Powerhouse: Demonstrated history of delivering cost-reduction results through global leveraging and specification optimization.
  • Foundational Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a business-related field preferred; however, equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Quality methods like process capability and statistical process control.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CPM or CPIM.
  • Experience managing LCR (Local Content Requirement) transitions in accordance with cost and timing goals.

Responsibilities

  • Architect Commodity Strategies: Develop and communicate a strategic vision that provides best-in-class pricing and material support flexibility across global regions.
  • Champion Innovation: Partner with Product Development and NPI teams to ensure technology roadmaps converge, meeting critical time-to-market and performance requirements.
  • Cultivate Strategic Alliances: Nurture high-level executive relationships with suppliers, driving performance through sophisticated scorecarding and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize Global Impact: Lead complex negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives through global leverage, design optimization, and yield improvements.
  • Ensure Supply Resilience: Proactively identify risks and implement creative contingency plans, including buffer stock and VMI programs, to guarantee uninterrupted continuity of supply.
