About The Position

Lead and represent the global direct-material supplier development and sourcing strategy for a Gas Turbine Small Parts sub-commodity group (Pins, Gaskets, Seals, etc.) maximizing supplier value across Quality, Delivery, Capacity, Cost, and Cash. Define and execute growth strategies by leveraging existing suppliers and identifying new partners to optimize total landed cost, capacity management, and supply-chain performance across all respective global sub-commodities. Create and drive global strategies and key enabler programs in the role of Global Commodity Leader (GCL).

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Major experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management, with Significant experience in Manufacturing/Sourcing/Supply Chain and commercial activities.
  • Language: Fluent English knowledge is a must

Responsibilities

  • Define supplier strategy for respective sub-commodities including management and optimization of supplier panels.
  • Develop existing and new supplier capabilities to maximize cost out, on time service level, capacity and quality.
  • Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement.
  • Manage claims.
  • Map supplier capabilities to product sub-families to optimize target panel supplier list.
  • Shape, Define & lead volume allocation growth to supplier base on a total landed cost competitiveness basis through vendor development programs.
  • Maximize volume allocation for Best Cost Country suppliers for total landed competitively qualified products, identify potential leakages and drive mitigation actions.
  • Identify and assess supplier capabilities and capacity, and measure/improve supplier performance, including their full supply chain.
  • Identify and lead product qualification projects with cross functional Teams including Engineering, Sourcing Quality, Global Commodity Leaders above and beyond own scope.
  • Build new product qualification pipeline for supply chain.
  • Take the lead and own process improvement programs using Lean tools and Sourcing expertise to reduce cycle time and improve team efficiency.
  • Lead competitive RFQ/bidding process to identify cost out opportunities when applicable.
  • Ability to assess technical information.
  • Strategic Sourcing experience.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
