About The Position

Typical Accountabilities: • Responsible for providing specialist Physician Management expertise and services through global process management or expertise of process, and interface activities with external organisations within a geographical area • Inputs significantly to the regional Physician strategy • Provides some input to the global clinical development strategy from a Physician perspective • Leads, guides, evaluates and develops the team within own area of Physicians to ensure that the area achieves its objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws • Performance manages senior managers or identifies development opportunities of direct reports, together with planning effectively for succession • Leads or oversees a diverse range of initiatives to improve quality, integrity of information interpretation, cost or time and where appropriate lead the development of new methodology or process to provide business benefit • Accountable for the overall clinical, scientific and value content within the Clinical Project team AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company. Requirements

  • Medical degree
  • Professional qualification
  • Mastery of Physician area with an ability to lead cross functional working groups and teams
  • Proven leadership promoting, motivating and empowering others to accomplish individual, team and organizational objectives
  • Significant understanding of the overall drug development and commercialisation process from development, launch through life cycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global and regional environment
  • Experience leading and developing a team and working in a global environment
  • Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully, to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organizational relationships
