About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE position at Ashlawn Elementary School. The Global Citizenship Project (GCP) Teacher supports school-wide initiatives and collaborates with staff to integrate global citizenship concepts into the broader school community. The GCP Teacher also provides a weekly specials class for students in grades K–5, focused on building global awareness, environmental responsibility, and community engagement through lessons, projects, and experiences.

Requirements

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in Elementary Education PreK-6

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
• Maintains safe and orderly environment
• Communicates with parents/guardians
• Maintains complete and accurate student records
• Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
• Monitors and assesses student achievement
• Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
