About The Position

Cogent Communications is seeking a Global Account Manager (GAM) in Seattle, WA. As a multinational, Tier 1 facilities-based ISP, Cogent specializes in providing businesses with high-speed Internet access, private network services, IPv4 address leasing, optical transport services, and data center colocation services. The GAM will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory, utilizing consultative and relationship-building selling techniques to position Cogent's services effectively. This role requires direct engagement with key decision-makers and the ability to generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.

Requirements

  • 3-8+ years of solid, B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with collocation, wholesale experience, and data transit and transport.
  • Proven experience with a track record of success in a direct hunting, B2B sales role and quota achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM is a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting.
  • Generate new business opportunities by working directly with key decision-makers through direct calling, email, and contact efforts.
  • Complement prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
  • Use consultative and relationship-building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
  • Position Cogent's services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint.
