Glenwood Dining Room Server - This is a great first job for high school or college students. Looking for responsible, reliable, compassionate people. All shifts available. Community Name: Glenwood Community Responsible for taking menu orders from residents, guests and employees of the community, serving meals and bussing tables according to established policy and procedures. Essential Functions Statement(s) Utilizes proper food handling and food service techniques. Ensures tables are perfectly set, chairs are in place and clean and floor is swept. Takes orders from resident, guest or employee in a timely manner. Must be knowledgeable of all specials and general description of all food items being served. Provides service in a friendly and timely manner. Executes the sanitation process by the following: Washes tables and chairs in the dining room; Sweeps and mops the dining room floor as assigned; Takes trash to the dumpster; Washes dishes and silverware according to dish washing procedures; Puts clean dishes and silverware away; Assists with cleaning of equipment and kitchen as assigned; Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas Buses tables and resets for the next meal service according to established policy and procedure. Assists with salad bar or dessert preparation as directed Maintains appropriate, effective communication with residents, and with residents' family and co-workers Participates in relevant educational and training activities as appropriate Performs all other duties as assigned or directed Competency Statement(s) Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Skills & Abilities Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred Experience: No prior experience necessary Other Requirements: Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population. Interacts with guests, residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Must be capable of reading and writing the English language; follows written and verbal instruction and work assignments. Must have general working knowledge of and ability to use kitchen equipment. Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality. Must be able to work flexible hours, such as during staff shortages or emergency situations.
