About The Position

The Glazing Estimator at Pacific Glazing Contractors is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers through effective sales efforts. This role involves executing the entire bid process, ensuring accurate estimates, and supporting the estimating team to meet sales goals and project profitability.

Requirements

• Strong take-off and cost estimating skills specific to glass and glazing
• Experience negotiating and assembling bid packages with clients and suppliers
• Expertise estimating various glass/glazing scopes
• Essential office skills including typing and computer literacy
• Software experience with Microsoft Platform, Google Sheets, Smartsheet, Foundations, and GDS Storefront Estimating software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Implement department standards
• Double check department bids
• Perform accurate takeoffs of various materials and scopes
• Develop detailed estimates based on contract documents
• Use techniques to be a competitive and successful bidder
• Participate in pre-bid job walks and after-bid follow up
• Estimate change order requests as needed and review PM submitted changes
• Lead and participate in handing off estimates to the project manager
• Meet or exceed sales goals
• Provide direction and support to the estimating team
• Review ongoing project profit margins and adjust bid sheets as necessary
