About The Position

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0FTE) open rank Instructor - Professor in Glaucoma and Cataracts to support our site of practice at Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado. This position will provide outpatient medical and surgical management of these specialties at UCH and Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
  • Instructor Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
  • Senior Instructor Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. 1 year of experience in glaucoma and cataracts
  • Assistant Professor Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. Fellowship trained in glaucoma and cataracts
  • Associate Professor Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. 3+ years of experience at an associate professor rank at AMC in the glaucoma and cataracts
  • Professor Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. 5+ years of experience at a professor rank at AMC in glaucoma and cataracts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment between subspecialty ophthalmologists is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of ophthalmic diseases.
  • Demonstrated interest in resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible for direct outpatient medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataract patients at UCH and Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.
  • Provides resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.
