About The Position

The position works independently under general supervision, updating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with information from standard source documents such as work orders, drawings, maps, and written and verbal instructions which model electric and/or gas distribution or transmission systems. The role involves examining work for correctness and accuracy through a Quality Assurance process and tools to ensure the Company safety standards and procedures are met with high quality data. The position may also require performing field checks to locate equipment and verify data accuracy, producing a variety of drawings, plans, and maps from the GIS database, and communicating with members in other units to interpret discrepancies in records and resolve them in an accurate and timely manner.
