Role description: Arcadis is seeking a GIS Specialist candidate to provide analytical and consulting support for US State Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on cartography and mapping, data management and maintenance, and design and implementation of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri based software to support Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise platforms, Business Systems Integration, and visualization tools and platforms. This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods. Role accountabilities: The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems and analyzing datasets within an LRS network, including centerlines, routes, and calibration points. They will perform mapping, cartography, and visualization of GIS datasets utilizing Esri technologies, and maintain data required for producing Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports. The candidate will identify and design business processes for use in Workflow Manager (WMX), develop Data Reviewer checks to validate data conversion and creation processes, and manage GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices. Additional responsibilities include using Event Editor (EE) sites on ArcGIS Server to maintain GIS data, parsing REST service calls to interrogate enterprise database systems, and designing and developing geoprocessing models for various functions using model builder and Python. The candidate will also work with FME to translate geospatial data and must be comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently to complete assigned tasks. Work location is flexible. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required for this position.
