About The Position

Join our team as a GIS Project Manager in our Funding and Asset Management practice area located in our Cary, North Carolina office. WithersRavenel is seeking a driven and experienced GIS Project Manager to lead innovative geospatial projects and guide a high-performing team. In this role, you'll manage project execution from concept through completion, ensuring technical quality, budget alignment, and client satisfaction. You’ll play a key part in shaping the GIS practice through leadership, technical oversight, and team development. We’re looking for someone who is not only technically proficient but also thrives in a leadership position—balancing project coordination, staff mentoring, and client engagement. Lead, manage, and delegate tasks for GIS projects from proposal to delivery Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams Prepare and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets Supervise and mentor team members, supporting career development Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure technical standards are met Support client development and cross-selling opportunities Why WR? Requirements

7+ years minimum experience in the field of GIS
5 years minimum experience with project management
Advanced knowledge of GIS-related software, products, and services (e.g., Esri, ArcGIS Online, etc.)
Knowledge and understanding of land surveying data collection methods and software
Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Knowledge of contracts, accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven track record of fostering existing client relationships
Demonstrate personal investment in your career
