About The Position

At geocgi, we pride ourselves on not losing our focus. We started out and remain GIS experts (or geeks... depending on your perspective). Since 2006, we've evolved into a world-class and world-wide service provider of multiple disciplines. We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a GIS Developer to design, develop, and deploy geospatial applications and capabilities for a large U.S. Federal agency GIS program. The GIS Developer is responsible for all aspects of the application lifecycle to include requirements gathering, storyboarding, design, development, documentation, and deployment. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Developer, which include: providing support in the development and/or configuration of geospatial applications, tools, and scripts to meet functional area requirements. The role involves assessing, planning, designing, developing, testing, integrating, administering, maintaining, supporting, and documenting new and existing applications and tools. The GIS Developer will coordinate with stakeholders on application development requirements and maintain and create geospatial application program interfaces (API) to include Esri's ArcGIS Server API's (JavaScript, REST, and Python). It is essential to ensure that development activities are performed in compliance with all agency and Federal policies, as well as integrating geospatial data and applications with mission business systems and relational databases. The GIS Developer will also use industry best practices for continuous integration and continuous development/deployment of applications. Qualities sought in the ideal candidate include an eagerness to learn new technology and integrate existing skills within a new industry, being an above-average communicator comfortable with technical writing and public speaking, being an active and collaborative team member, and being highly organized to support several projects simultaneously. A desire to immerse oneself in location-based problem solving to support our client's missions is also crucial. As an employee of geocgi, the GIS Developer will have access to a generous benefits package, in addition to a corporate culture and community of GIS geeks.
