About The Position
As a GIS Cartography Specialist at Pinal County, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Assessor's Office by reviewing technical documents related to real property boundaries and ownership. Your primary responsibilities will include drawing, editing, and updating mapping functions within the Geographic Information System (GIS) database, as well as processing parcel splits, combinations, and legal acreage changes. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to evaluate data quality and accuracy, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and reliable. In this role, you will be tasked with assigning parcel numbers for tax assessments and implementing changes to parcel maps using GIS software and other specialized applications. You will also be responsible for tracking technical documents and identifying their potential impact on department codes and records. Your work will involve creating custom maps upon request, maintaining the GIS database according to established policies and procedures, and performing quality control checks to assure data integrity. Additionally, you will assist County staff and provide support to clients and the general public in obtaining information. Effective communication skills are essential, as you will need to convey technical information both verbally and in writing. You will also be expected to maintain confidentiality regarding work-related issues and customer records, adhering to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork.
