About The Position
Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is a Christ-centered independent school serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across four campuses in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Starting this coming school year, AACS will enter an exciting new chapter as our middle and high school programs unite on our 85-acre campus in Severn, Maryland, bringing students in grades 6–12 together on one campus. This transition will strengthen alignment across academics, arts, and athletics while expanding opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and community. AACS partners with families and local churches to educate and disciple students in a Christ-centered environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, spiritual formation, and excellence in every area of life. Athletics plays a vital role in that mission. We believe sport is a powerful space for developing character, resilience, discipline, and leadership. All Coaches must profess faith in Jesus Christ and be actively involved in a local church. Role Overview Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is seeking a Girls JV Volleyball Head Coach to support and develop our volleyball program within a Christ-centered, team-oriented environment. The JV Head Coach will work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to develop student-athletes, build strong fundamentals, and foster a positive and competitive team culture.
Requirements
- Affirmation of the AACS Statement of Faith
- Strong knowledge of the game and ability to teach fundamentals
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Willingness and ability to drive a school mini-bus to games
Nice To Haves
- Prior volleyball coaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the JV volleyball team
- Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development and game strategy
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players
- Lead the team during matches, including lineup and in-game decisions
- Support alignment with the varsity program
- Build positive relationships with players, families, and staff
- Uphold school policies and ensure player safety
