About The Position

Coaching is a part-time position and is responsible for the planning, promotion and administration of a quality basketball program. Coach will plan and promote athletic practices, schedule transportation, coordinate fundraisers when needed, and other team events. Coach will enforce all school, conference and Arizona Interscholastic Association rules and regulations. The primary focus of the season will be to improve the middle school basketball program and to create a strong foundation of skills and leadership for participants. Coach will stress Pursuing Victory with Honor principles during practices and games.

Requirements

Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Obtain and maintain First Aide/CPR Certification.
Coaching experience.
KNOWLEDGE OF Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
KNOWLEDGE OF Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
KNOWLEDGE OF Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE OF Customer service principles.
KNOWLEDGE OF Specialized equipment relevant assigned sport.
KNOWLEDGE OF Technology related to assigned sport.
SKILLED IN Following directions and meeting standards.
SKILLED IN Providing attention to detail in assignments.
SKILLED IN Comprehending reference books and manuals.
SKILLED IN Organizing and maintaining supplies.
SKILLED IN Providing customer service.
SKILLED IN Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
SKILLED IN Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Responsibilities

Must be available to be at practices and games.

Coach is responsible for making sure eligibility policy is followed.

Coach is responsible to ensure every student athlete has had a physical before season starts.
