Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Packaging
  • 1–5 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, or FMCG
  • Strong knowledge of secondary packaging and giftset development
  • Experience working in cGMP or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage dimensional tolerances
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe, and packaging IT systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in promotional or seasonal giftset packaging
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems and specification tools
  • Experience across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
  • Familiarity with Quality Management processes (Technical Readiness / 5D)
  • Understanding of DOT Hazmat requirements for personal care products
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple timelines under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Lead giftset packaging development
  • Translate Marketing briefs into industrialized giftset packaging concepts
  • Define packaging architectures including folding cartons, trays, inserts, sleeves, wraps, and multipacks
  • Support innovation, conception, evaluation, and execution phases
  • Ensure functionality, aesthetics, safety, recyclability, and sustainability
  • Drive industrialization & manufacturing readiness
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in SAP
  • Develop component and finished good specifications compliant to Coty guidelines and GMP practices
  • Create, collaborate with operations to review, and approve assembly instructions for assembly sites
  • Coordinate samples, WIPs, and packaging testing during development
  • Attend factory kickoffs, TPMs, and first productions when required
  • Manage cost & value optimization
  • Collect conception costs based on design briefs and supplier input
  • Identify and drive cost improvement and simplification opportunities
  • Ensure cost targets are met without compromising quality or timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders
  • Act as technical interface between Marketing, Initiative Management, Planning, Quality, and Suppliers
  • Track development milestones and communicate status and risks
  • Host or attend vendor summits to ensure accurate design turnovers and pre-costing
  • Ensure quality & compliance
  • Review and approve artwork files and ensure proper document control
  • Approve component standards and technical documentation
  • Support quality investigations, deviations, and corrective actions related to giftsets
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, internal packaging standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
