About The Position
Coordinates the gifted program: proper identification, delivery of services to gifted students, completion of KDE and local forms and training for classroom teachers.
Requirements
- Gifted Teaching Certificate or Grandfathered Gifted Teacher
Responsibilities
- Assure proper identification of students in grades K-12 by individual schools.
- Coordinate and assure that classroom teachers deliver proper services to gifted students.
- Provide training for classroom teachers in the delivery of services to gifted students.
- Coordinate the completion of the gifted forms required by the local district and KDE.
- Assist in the completion of the Gifted Education Grant.
- Assist in the completion of District Summary Reports as required by KDE.
- Assist teachers in delivery of services when appropriate.
- Assist teachers in the planning of services for gifted students.
- Attend KDE meeting on Gifted Education.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Gifted Education.
