About The Position

The Gift Shop Clerk is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining a clean and organized environment while providing excellent guest service in the gift shop.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Possess an OLCC license at time of hire.
  • General understanding of computer programs, including all windows applications required.
  • Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently, in high pressure situations with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Courteously and enthusiastically greets guests and determines their needs for prompt service.
  • Provides information about products, promotions and special offers.
  • Provides guests with information on TRCR amenities and services, and local attractions.
  • Processes sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS System.
  • Accepts payments, including cash, credit/debit cards and gift certificates.
  • Issues receipts, refunds and exchanges as needed.
  • Maintains a balanced cash drawer and reconciles sales at end of shift.
  • Assists with stocking shelves and displays with merchandise while verifying products are properly labeled.
  • Alerts management on low stock or product replenishment needs.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and presentable area at all times to include dusting, cleaning display cases, vacuuming and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks.
  • Stays informed and familiar on product and merchandise available.
  • Maintains awareness of company promotions, events and programs; communicating them to our guests at every opportunity.
  • Informs management of all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
  • Provides all above guest interactions applying TRCR service standards.
  • Other duties as directed by management.
