About The Position

The Gift Processing Student Assistant position entails working in the University Advancement Office at Cal State Fullerton. The department focuses on fundraising efforts for donor relations. We are looking for one student assistant who is detail-oriented and willing to work 20 hours per week. We are looking to start hiring and training as soon as possible and have employment continue through the academic school years. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills related to working in an office environment and learning behind-the-scenes work that supports Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Fundraising. A good Gift Processing student assistant is proactive, organized, a good communicator, helpful, and resourceful. Assists in processing and printing philanthropic receipts. Provide clerical assistance with additional tasks such as scanning, filing, mail merging, sorting, etc. Monitor incoming emails, move them into appropriate folders, and tag them accordingly to assist the Gift Processing team. Upload documents onto the server to backup donor records.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position.
  • CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
  • Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
  • In accordance with the California State University (CSU) Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is a state entity whose business operations reside within the State of California and requires hiring employees to perform CSU related work within the State of California.
