About The Position
The Gift Processing Coordinator at Mercy Street plays a crucial role in the Development team, focusing on the meticulous recording and processing of contributions. This part-time position is designed for an experienced, detail-oriented individual who is committed to excellence in donor relations. The primary responsibility of the Gift Processing Coordinator is to ensure that all gifts are accurately entered into the donor database and acknowledged promptly. This role also encompasses written donor communications, managing the donor database, and conducting research to derive insights from input data. The coordinator will provide suggestions and implement best practices to help the ministry achieve its goals. In addition to processing gifts, the coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the donor database, ensuring that all donations, including checks, EFTs, online, and in-kind contributions, are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. The coordinator will also oversee the acknowledgment of donors throughout the year and during special events, ensuring that all supporters feel valued and appreciated. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external clients. The Gift Processing Coordinator will assist the development team with donor communications and stewardship, contributing to the planning and execution of key fundraising events such as the Annual Luncheon and North Texas Giving Day. This role is not only about processing gifts but also about fostering relationships and ensuring that the mission of Mercy Street is communicated effectively to all stakeholders. The coordinator will also proofread marketing materials and prepare annual tax receipts for donors, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all communications.
