The Gift Processing and Development Coordinator at the Walters Art Museum plays a crucial role in supporting the Development Department by overseeing the processing of gifts and grants, as well as maintaining accurate constituent data. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity of donor information and facilitating the museum's fundraising efforts, contributing to the museum's mission of connecting people with art and culture.

  • Provide oversight and coordination of gift processing, ensuring accuracy of donor data.
  • Process contributions from individuals, grants, foundations, corporations, bequests, and others.
  • Manage credit card gift processing and handle onsite check deposits.
  • Monitor database for incomplete transactions.
  • Develop, run, and review timely audits to ensure accurate gift entry, donor/constituent information, and acknowledgement.
  • Manage and update standard operating procedures related to gift processing.
  • Coordinate with members of the Development team to ensure proper recognition of gifts and pledges are generated.
  • Manage the collection of museum contribution box donations with the Finance Department.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile gift information.
  • Review and complete all gift adjustments.
  • Process contributions made through stock, ACH, and wire transfer donations.
  • Provide additional information about gift designations, as needed.
  • Provide check deposit reports.
  • Support ongoing donor stewardship.
  • Manage process for generating membership cards.
  • Ensure constituent information is updated in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain inventory of department supplies.
  • Provide general support for the department as needed.
  • Minimum of two years fundraising database experience; Raiser's Edge / Altru experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality regarding Walters processes and constituent information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously without compromising productivity or attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills.
