The Gift Shop Merchandiser's overall responsibility is to assist in ordering, processing orders, pricing and displays of merchandise on the sales floor of the Gift Market. They are responsible for providing excellent customer service and serve as supervisor on duty (back up to the Gift Market Supervisor). Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Organized, Responsive and motivated
- Computer experience
- One (1)- three (3) years Retail Experience
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Reacts quickly and is very responsive, cooperative and a team player
- Is able to meet the physical demands of the role
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree
- Experience in the inventory system or something similar
- Up to date on current trends, styles, and generational preferences
Responsibilities
- Checking in merchandise
- Pricing and stocking
- Enter items in the inventory system
- Gives suggestions in types of merchandise to consider/order, any necessary discounts, any reorders, etc.
- Keeps all storage areas clean and organized
- Works closely with the Gift Market Supervisor in planning merchandise layouts, promotions, holiday displays, etc. to keep the shop fresh and inviting
- Is fully trained in the supervisor’s duties and can maintain duties in the absence of the supervisor
- Provides coverage for cashiers if necessary and understands full operation of cash register, balancing, etc.
- Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
- Other duties as assigned
