About The Position
This position is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in the provision of patient care in the Endoscopy Services Unit. Participates in quality patient care delivery, efficient patient flow and effective communication with health care team. Integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year experience in Endoscopy Unit as a GI Lab technician required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for a candidate with a strong education and associated experiential background.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, computer and order entry skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally an in writing.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment; manage, prioritize, complete work assignments and other duties as assigned within the defined timeframes.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program preferred.
- Proficient in word processing and order entry.
