About The Position
The GI Technician serves as an assistant in the Outpatient GI Lab, working with patients, preparing instruments and equipment and assisting in the procedure room.
Requirements
- Experience as a Patient Care Tech, Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant highly preferred
- CPR BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy & medical terminology required
- Basic computer experience
- Ability to take vitals and perform CPR
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care under the supervision of the RN
- Maintain the procedure room set up, equipment care and maintenance
- Assist with specimen collection & disinfection of instruments
- Assist physicians during procedures
- Room patients and take vitals
