About The Position

The GI Tech/Sterilization Tech at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare in Plano, TX, is responsible for maintaining surgical instrumentation and sterilization devices, ensuring the provision of care to meet patient outcomes, and managing the distribution and control of supplies and equipment. Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in endoscopy or gastroenterology, preferably in an ASC or outpatient setting.
• Current BLS and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Care for and maintain all surgical instrumentation and sterilization devices.
• Monitor and operate instrument washers and sterilization devices.
• Provide care to meet identified patient outcomes as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Manage centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility.
• Handle shipping and receiving of supplies and equipment.
• Store prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.
• Maintain and track inventory according to facility procedures.
