About The Position

The GI Technologist is a self-motivated individual who is responsible for assisting the professional nurse and/or physician in assuring continuity of care during the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and immediate post-procedure periods of the patient’s procedural experience. The Gastrointestinal Technologist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Gastroenterology/Endoscopy Department.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year GI, peri-operative or health related fields involving direct patient care experience OR prior experience working in a health care environment utilizing aseptic and sterile technique.
• Current CPR recognition.

Nice To Haves

• Two years GI, peri-operative or health related fields experience.
• Graduate of school for surgical technologists and/or U.S. military healthcare training.
• Completion of college course in anatomy/physiology.
• SGNA GTS Gastroenterology Technician Certification within one year of hire.
• SGNA AGTS Advanced Gastroenterology Technician Certification within two years of hire.
