JOB TITLE: GI Resource/Scheduler SUPERVISOR: Nursing Manager HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm) DEPARTMENT: Nursing Services HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. PRIMARY FUNCTION: To schedule all appointments for the department, answer phones, greet patients, obtain referrals, verify benefits for appointments, confirm next day appointments, misc. , tasks as needed in the department.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct to appropriate person. If the appropriate person is not available, take detailed message.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for GI Department.
  • Assist with chart preparation.
  • Make sure referrals are in place for all appointments. Use Referral DAR in Electronic Health Record (EHR) to note information.
  • Assist Medical Assistants as needed.
  • Work under pressure with very busy physician schedules.
  • Professional communication with physicians.
  • Assist with workque/recall.
  • Back up Surgery Scheduler as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
  • Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business.
  • Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors.
  • Abide by company policies.
  • Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.
