The Department of Pathology (DOP), University of Colorado Anschutz seeks a full-time junior to senior faculty member with expertise in gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreaticobiliary (GI/liver) surgical pathology, at the rank of Assistant Professor to Professor to join the team of seven academic GI/liver surgical pathologists based at the affiliated 925 bed University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) located in metro Denver. The Department of Pathology provides professional and technical anatomic pathology services to UCH and affiliated clinics using a subspecialty sign out model. The GI/liver service reports on 19,000 cases per year, including advanced endoscopic interventions, complex oncologic resections, and transplantations. While the primary clinical focus of this position is in GI/liver surgical pathology, secondary clinical interests in other areas of anatomic pathology will be accommodated. Faculty engage in scholarship, through collaborative scientific investigations and/or through the development of their own research programs. Faculty teach in the 25 seat Combined Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology Residency Program, 11 pathology fellowship programs (including a 2 seat GI/Liver Pathology Fellowship Program), affiliated clinical residency and fellowship programs, medical school, and other graduate health programs. Faculty are part of a multidisciplinary team, including other pathologists, technical staff, and non-pathologist providers; thus, strong communication and professionalism skills are necessary.
