Requirements

• BLS Certification
• Completion of a gastroenterology or endoscopy technician training program, or 1 year of related experience in a healthcare setting with completion of an Operating Room Tech or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
• Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor with a 5-year registration through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, or current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Surgical Technologist through the State of Washington.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleaning processes for scopes and the cleaning, disinfecting, and storage areas on a daily basis.
• Assists in preparing procedure areas for endoscopy procedures.
• Provides assistance to a licensed healthcare practitioner with patient care during endoscopy procedures, within the scope of licensure/certification.
• Performs routine maintenance of scopes and endoscopic equipment.
• Participates in infection control studies.
