The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) at Amergis plays a crucial role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position involves a variety of individualized patient care activities tailored to meet the needs of the geriatric patient population. The GNA is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, which includes bathing, dressing, feeding, and transporting patients. The GNA must observe appropriate infection control procedures and notify the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings or conditions. Other responsibilities include cleaning and organizing patient rooms, assisting with the management of residents' laundry and belongings, and preparing patients for appointments or transfers.
