We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The Role We are seeking a Geotechnical Vice President to join our dynamic team in Orlando. In this role, you will lead and manage forensic investigations involving geotechnical engineering failures and claims. The role also includes contributing to marketing and business development efforts and mentoring junior staff by providing technical direction. You’ll work closely with attorneys, insurance professionals, property owners, and contractors on a variety of complex projects - ranging from emergency response to litigation support. Experience testifying or serving as an expert witness is preferred, and support will be provided for those interested in developing this skill set.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NCEES record preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years in geotechnical design
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to express engineering findings clearly
  • Experience serving as an expert witness preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities
  • Active involvement in professional or industry organizations
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support forensic investigations related to geotechnical failures, damage assessment, and cause/origin studies
  • Conduct field investigations, engineering assessments, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and code reviews
  • Prepare clear, defensible technical reports and expert opinions
  • Perform peer reviews and condition assessments, including order-of-magnitude cost estimates
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical direction to junior staff
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary efforts and ensure project delivery meets scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Serve as primary client liaison, managing contracts, scoping, and delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (attorneys, insurance professionals, contractors, etc.)
  • Lead and support business development initiatives, including industry presentations and participation at events
  • Drive growth of the forensic geotechnical practice through pursuit strategy, proposals, and repeat client engagement
