About The Position

The mission of a Geotechnical Staff Engineer for HVJ North Texas - Chelliah Consultants, Inc. dba HVJ, a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to support the project managers or other staff as directed to assure client satisfaction through completing field assignments, preparation of detailed calculations, performing engineering analyses, and preparing geotechnical engineering reports. Main areas of responsibilities include: Perform direct project work and logging of geotechnical borings in the field. Drive company vehicles to/from work site as needed. Prepare boring logs based on field and lab data. Organizing field and laboratory work and performing engineering analyses within project scope and budget as directed by the project manager. Preparing geotechnical reports including required plates and appendices Addressing internal and client review comments Execute activities consistent with commitment management and quality standards. Continuously improving technical capabilities by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies. Identify project and client issues as early as possible and coordinate resolution with project manager in accordance with company policy. Perform duties in a safe, cheerful, efficient, and workmanlike manner

Requirements

  • MSCE (or BSCE with two to five years of directly related geotechnical experience).
  • Registered EIT
  • Excellent written and communication skills and strong math and science skills.
  • Valid Texas Driver License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses and valid right to work documents.
  • Complete defensive driving courses and obtain certificates before driving company vehicles and repeat as necessary.
