At ECS, we're seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer who is passionate about guiding teams and ensuring the highest quality of technical excellence. In this leadership role, you will oversee project engineers and managers, providing mentorship and direction to ensure successful project delivery. As a key decision-maker, you will serve as the final reviewer on complex geotechnical reports and provide advanced technical oversight on major projects, from high-rises to infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support to Geotechnical staff both within a branch and within a region
  • Host or attend project meetings with clients and/or ECS staff to help provide technical solutions as requested
  • Mentor Associate Principals
  • Participate in the review committee for candidates seeking Associate Principal designation (Geotechnical)
  • Oversee projects at the office and regional levels
  • Perform technical report reviews
  • Prepare and review proposals
  • Assist with management of the department and P&L
  • Engage in business development and assist other staff in marketing services by maintaining and developing client interactions
  • Assist hiring managers in staffing decisions
  • Lead and coach junior staff members
  • Perform tasks in CMT as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
  • 12 years of related experience
  • Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm required
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO specifications and geotechnical design manuals
  • Experience with industry standard software such as: gINT, LPILE, GRLWEAP, PLAXIS
  • Valid driver's license required if driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary.
