About The Position

Learn to document like a detective, study rocks and soil mechanics like a geologist, and be the boots on the ground for new and exciting construction projects in your area and all over the Southeast! Building & Earth Sciences specializes in Materials Testing and Geotechnical Analysis of commercial construction sites. Our field interns get to work hands-on and perform important tests on construction materials such as concrete, soils, rebar, mortar and much more! Building & Earth Sciences employs over 30 Civil Engineering Students each year throughout our branch offices!

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Geology, or another applicable field.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• Completed college freshman year.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet device.
• Good communication skills and a customer service attitude.

Nice To Haves

• ACI Field Level I Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform important tests on construction materials such as concrete, soils, rebar, and mortar.
• Document findings and results accurately.
• Work hands-on in various construction projects across the Southeast.
• Follow directions with minimal supervision.
