Description Results Statement: The mission of the Laboratory Manager for HVJ, a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to maintain quality standards of technical work performed within the operation and also be accountable for acquiring, mentoring or training, maintaining appropriate resources to ensure execution of testing services performed and accountability for making sure that laboratory meet or exceed the minimum requirements set forth in the quality manual. Maintain current accreditation status with each accrediting agency and advise service line manager on possible expansion of scope that is in alignment with company’s growth plans. In addition to making sure that laboratory has the appropriate resources in place to execute testing per applicable standards. This includes but is not limited to acquiring and maintains equipment, hiring and training new staff, evaluating and training existing staff, cross training, reviewing all reports, client coordination, resolving conflicts, coordination with other departments and administrative requirements and being Responsible for the quality of all technical work performed in the Geotechnical department. This will include but is not limited to review of all lab assignments, coordination with other supervising staff, performing quality audits, ensuring quality assurance and quality control plans are being implemented and provide recommendations or corrective actions on non-compliance issues. Ongoing Work: Laboratory Accreditations Laboratory Management Laboratory Quality Management Performing Standard and Advanced Lab Testing Data reduction and verification of tests Other duties as requested by the Sr. VP of Operations and Branch Manager.
