Position Summary

This position supports field operations by conducting observations, testing, and documentation to ensure construction activities meet project requirements and applicable standards. Responsibilities include working closely with project teams, collecting data and samples as needed, and preparing timely reports of field activities.

Requirements

• 2+ years of soils field and/or laboratory testing experience.
• Nuclear gauge certification and Radiation Safety (i.e., APNGA).
• Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory test results.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to professionally communicate with clients, technical staff, and management.

Nice To Haves

• AA degree
• ICC Soils Special Inspector & ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician certifications preferred or expected to apply for certifications withing one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation of earthwork activities including documentation of site preparation, placement of engineered fill, foundation installations, chemical stabilization (i.e., lime, cement, lime/cement, FDR, etc.) and excavations.
• Perform field testing of earth fills, trench backfill, road base, and chemical stabilization.
• Perform field coring and Dynamic Cone Penetration testing.
• Collect samples per applicable test methods and standards.
• Prepare daily reports documenting work observed/inspected and any testing and sampling performed and submitting within 1 day of field work performed.
