The Boston office of Jacobs seeks Co-op(s) to work in our Geotechnical Group from May 2026 - September 2026. Employee will perform tasks under supervision of Geotechnical Group staff. Well-defined company standards and procedures will be utilized. Work is checked in progress and upon completion. Occasional tasks of a routine and repetitive nature may be required depending on the project requirements. Performing of a variety of duties including inspections of exploratory and construction related activity, specifically, subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, taking field notes, drafting of construction plans, providing construction phase services (as-built drawing and RFI review, meeting minutes), performing calculations, assisting in other miscellaneous tasks such as organizing reports, and packaging submissions. Work will involve a mix of both office-based and field-based assignments. Please note in your application or resume if you have any limitations to perform daytime or nighttime field work.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering major at an accredited university and be at least a rising Junior.
  • Applicants should have completed at least one course in geotechnical engineering or demonstrate a strong interest in the field.
  • Candidates pursuing Master's degree programs in geotechnical engineering are also encouraged to apply.
  • Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
